Mr Abraham-Igwe is an expert in hernia repair, treating a wide range of hernias, including inguinal, umbilical, incisional, and complex recurrent hernias. He offers both open and laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques, tailoring treatment to each patient’s needs. His approach focuses on reducing post-operative pain, minimising recovery time, and lowering the risk of recurrence. He has a particular interest in complex and large incisional hernias, often performing abdominal wall reconstruction using mesh reinforcement to strengthen weakened tissue.

In addition to his work in civilian practice, Mr Abraham-Igwe serves as a military surgeon at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham. His experience in high-pressure environments, including deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Sudan, has refined his surgical skills and ability to deliver excellent care in challenging conditions. His role within the military has given him extensive experience in managing traumatic injuries and complex surgical cases.

Mr Abraham-Igwe is committed to improving surgical outcomes and patient care. He has led initiatives in enhanced recovery programmes, helping patients return to normal activities more quickly after surgery. His involvement in prehabilitation services, which focus on optimising patients’ health before surgery, has further improved recovery rates and reduced complications.

Education and training are an important part of his work. As a General Medical Council-approved trainer, he mentors surgical trainees and contributes to the development of future surgeons. He has been actively involved in teaching advanced hernia repair techniques and promoting best practices in surgical care.

Patients choosing Mr Abraham-Igwe for hernia surgery benefit from his extensive experience, meticulous surgical technique, and patient-focused approach.
